Dari-Land 129 East Main Street Warsaw, Ohio 43844 740-824-3545
It is a hot summer day and nothing would hit the spot better then a really good ice cream. Well, if you live in the area, you know all about the Warsaw Dari-Land. Started back in the 1950's by the Darling family, this business is no new comer. Known for great ice cream, sandwiches and soups (served during their winter hours October to April), many travelers make the trip here from far away places. A Very popular item is their Bear Burger (named after the River View High School Mascot) and made from 8 ounce chopped Sirloin beef.
Jim Warden is the latest owner and he has made many improvements since the spring of 1990, the year he purchased the business. On January the 3rd, 1991 however, a fire gutted the inside of the business. Not letting this get Jim down, he not only rebuilt, but made some other improvements that have shaped the business into what it is today, such as an outside patio and a walk in cooler. Jim notes, that over the 18 years that he has owned Dari-Land, he has raised prices only three times. Due to rising food costs, reluctantly he will make his fourth price increase on June 9th, 2008.
Marlene Schaefer manages Dari-Land and mentions that there are many favorites. Here is a list of what customers come back for on a regular basis: Cheese Burgers, Foot Long Coney's, Cheese Sticks, Ice cream of all sorts, Ice cream sandwiches and Sugar Free Yogurt Ice cream. Dari-Land's Sugar Free Yogurt Ice cream comes in Vanilla and another flavor that rotates on a weekly basis from May through December. Speaking of Ice cream, Dari-Land offers generous helpings along with great service. Dari-Land also sells ice by the bag.
